Saturn Retrograde in Pisces: Our Internal Teacher

I know retrograde periods always get such a bad reputation. There is nothing "bad" coming from a retrograde period. Yes, it can tend to bring challenging experiences or something surfacing that we've been avoiding, and t's necessary. If we don't review, take inventory, slow down, and address what is coming up to the surface, we won't heal. Period.

That's what this retrograde period is all about.

It's significant because Saturn in Pisces is potent. It cuts deep. Pisces is water, naturally ruling our emotional nature. Pisces energy runs deep. It is so deep that sometimes it's hard to feel it in the moment. It can be overwhelming to the point that it can drive us to avoid.

Saturn is all about growth. It brings structure and systems, which is grounded-ness that we all need to build towards something. Saturn is also very closely related to our personal relationship with responsibility. When we are going through a Saturn transit (the return for example), things may come into our lives that call us to step more deeply into a place of responsibility and growth. For example, many people tend to get married, buy a house, have children, or start a business during a Saturn return because those are all things that come with a lot of responsibility.

With Saturn being in Pisces, it wants us to grow inwardly. This looks like emotional intelligence, a grounded and tangible spiritual practice, and engaging in things that connect us to a higher purpose or power. It's a very wonderful time to reconnect more deeply with ourselves: to let ourselves fully feel our emotions to heal, grow and experience more freedom internally.

I encourage you during this retrograde period (that is ending in November of 2023) to be mindful of any tendencies to check out, numb out or avoid feeling your feelings. I invite you to let yourself be as open as you can, experiencing presence within you, so that you can be an open channel and create more fulfilment and purpose in your life.

If you have any placements in the sign of Pisces, you may feel this more intensely than others. If those placements have sextiles or trines aspects, then this retrograde period may be a very easeful and fruitful time for you. If those placements have squares or oppositions, then it may be a more challenging experience. This is information for you to walk through this time with intention and grace.

Above all else, take care of yourself fully and lovingly.
